Alverde Foam Bath with Plums and Cinnamon

I will start with the end for this review, because it really got to me: perfect product!

This foam bath has a divine smell of..plums 😛 Never thought plums can smell so glamorous and sensual. The smell is simply great. I can not tell if the cinnamon is there too, but for the first time in an Alverde product the smell is very intense, and stays on the skin for a good while after coming out of the tub.

Also, unlike other Alverde bath products, this foam bath with plums and cinnamon offers a truly aromatherapy experience, because the smell is sooo strong while taking the bath.

The consistency is not so jelly like as most of the Alverde shower gels, it’s closer to what we’re used to feel in a shower gel, and it does produces foam. A lot of foam. O used it both in a long bath and for short showers, and no matter the type of usage, the effects are there: great smell, foam, soft skin afterwards.

Even with this great smell, the Alverde foam bath with plums and cinnamon has the Vegan and nature.org certifications, it has 300 ml and costs 3,50 euros.

I recommend it and I will grab one or two bottles more, before the winter ends and it disappears off the shelves.

Why do I like Alverde?

Alverde is one of the few brands on Earth that I am really enthusiastic about! I discovered it only one year ago and since then I have been the best consumer ever 🙂
I think I have purchased an average of one product per week, which leads us to a total of around 50 pieces of Alverde thingies I own or have owned recently.
Now, I have serious reasons for liking Alverde, it’s not just pure dumb enthusiasm: I like the fact that they do not advertise, I think this is one of the reasons why they can offer such incredibly good prices.
I like the ingredients, I am very happy with the natural certifications and I am really fond of the natural smells, that sometimes are not so flashy and appealing, but that is nature and it works for me.
I like the diversity of the Alverde products, of course more would be more than welcome…
I really like the make-up, ’cause you can not see so cheap BDIH certified make-up elsewhere, for sure!
I like the fact that sometimes they blew it. Some of their products are just not working. Ok, I can accept that.
I loove the Limited Editions. Are there any other brands that launch Limited Editions so often? And I enjoy the fact that one type of product will be available for just a tiny amount of time.
I like the fact that it is a modest brand. There’s no much fuss about it, no million euros invested in advertising.
Of course, I love the ingredients and the feeling of purity of the products.
And what I enjoy most is that Alverde surprises me every time I try a new product of theirs!

Alverde Washing Emulsion with Calendula

This is a very delicate face washing  emulsion, fit to persons who do not have problems with their complexion and want a silky wash.

The texture is nice but a bit too liquidy, I think. It cleans the make up pretty well, there’s not much left of the foundation or eye shadow after washing my face with this Alverde emulsion. Mixed with water, the product goes away very quickly and I don’t get to rub the face really well, maybe I should apply more.

Unfortunately it does not clean very well my stubborn Alverde Mascara, which I reviewed some days ago. When having the mascara on, some light black circles remain around my eyes and I have to insist with some almond oil afterwards to get rid of all the residue.

This washing lotion with Calendula is for any type of skin and this shows because it does not clean profoundly my greasy and clogged pores. On the other hand it doesn’t say it would, so we can not blame it 🙂 I use it with a face brush anyway, that does the trick and the face stays really clean.

The smell is also delicate, creamy and not strong at all, just a bit of Calendula and a bit milky.

This product does an average job in cleaning the make-up and I would recommend it to a normal to sensitive skin, because it is not very powerful.

It holds the BDIH certification and it contains alcohol, listed very high actually, third on the ingredients’ list. Awkwardly enough, there is no smell of alcohol in the product and no dryness of the skin afterwards, so it must be really well-balanced by the other ingredients.

I would rate it an 7,50/10. If this is good enough for you to pay 1,5 euros, then I recommend it! 🙂

Alverde Hand Cream with Cranberry and Vitamins

Ok, this right here is a veery strange product. I’ve had this hand cream about one year ago, I don’t know where it finished and I’m not very keen on looking for it, either. If I remember well it was a Limited edition so I’m not sure whether you will see it in the DM stores again.

This is among the few Alverde products where you notice that it is made of natural ingredients, the results and application experience sometimes have to suffer and the BDIH certification doesn’t count so much anymore..

Its texture is very liquidy and the cranberry smell is really strong. Apart from that it has alcohol!! amid the ingredients, which is incomprehensible to me for  a hand cream. I also remember that the alcohol was listed second on the ingredients list, so the alcohol content is really high; maybe the alcohol also enhances the smell and that is why it was so disturbingly strong.

In addition to this it had some hard particles as if it were a scrub, which I do not see the purpose of… After applying the cream there were some white marks on the skin, and as  much as the cream was watery, it penetrated the skin really slowly leaving them a bit sticky for some good 10-20 minutes.

I have to mention the good parts too, the cream was really good at hydration and treating my cracked and dry hands, after applying it  a few times.
I was really generous and patient with this cream, but it didn’t really work! 🙂

Alverde Liquid Soap with Lavender & Cornflower

I bought this liquid soap a week ago and my family really likes it. Since it is in the bathroom for the use of all,the aspects and opinions that I describe as follows, come from all my family members, which are three+ me.

The Alverde Liquid Soap with Lavender & Cornflower looks like a colorless gel. It does smell of lavender and pretty strong I might add, the smell is not delicate at all. This is how I imagine the smell of the real lavender flower, raw, as it comes right off the field. On the other hand I do not know the smell of the cornflower, so I couldn’t say if it’s present in this liquid soap.

Now, for the most important feature, the soap is delicate to the skin and it gives a nice feeling while washing. Afterwards the hands feel smooth and hydrated for about half an hour. I think it washes really well too, removing the foundation residues or some bad odours.

The product has both the BDIH and Vegan certification, it has 300 ml and costs, of course, around 1,5 euros.

Another thing worth mentioning is that it holds on pretty well, in the sense that we have been using it for a week in four people and we have used only about 1/10 of the product.

There are not many things to say about this product, it is easy to describe and to use it. Another nice touch from Alverde!

Later edit (28.12.2010): A month later, after using this liquid soap intensely we still have a bit of it, everybody loves it and we are really satisfied with the product. I warmly recommend it!!

Alverde Mascara Swing and Precision

I got this mascara two weeks ago, without giving it much credit or hopes. When I used it the first time I thought: “Yeah, of course, what would you expect from a BDIH certified mascara? It is watery and it makes a mess on and around my eyes”.

Now after two weeks I think I was judging too hard. I do not know what Alverde intended with the “Swing and precision”, because to me this is a mascara that only does one thing: makes your lashes longer. Pretty much longer.

Since the purchase moment it dried off a bit, now it doesn’t stain anymore. It is easy to apply and it has a nice silicone brush, which gets everywhere 😉 This mascara separates the lashes nicely and it doesn’t clog them at all, but it doesn’t give them any volume whatsoever. I haven’t been out in the rain with this mascara on, but in normal office and clubbing(=sweaty) conditions it manages to stay on really well.

My lashes are not really long or rich, so I would need a double: volume+ length. Anyway this product does the trick and the lashes look nice.

One thing that I like about this Alverde Mascara Swing and Precision is the pigment. I have a black one, and it is veery black. On the other hand this translates also into using 5 pads with make-up remover when you want to get rid of it, because it goes away very difficultly. Another thing that I like about it is the smell: it smells creamy.  Apart from that, it is gentle on my eyes which are very sensitive and  itchy, especially after being in front of the computer for long hours.

All in all, the product was a very pleasant surprise for the 3,5 euros I paid, and for being pretty natural.

So from me, thumbs up!!

Alverde Sensitive Shampoo – Birch & Sage

This shampoo is one of the best I have ever tried. I am on my third bottle now, and I am going to buy a new one for sure. The shampoo is for sensitive skin and scalp with problems, and it works really good for me which I have this problems. It calms my skins for about three days, removing the itches.

The smell of this shampoo is really herbal, plants like, very natural. It is BDIH and Vegan certified, it does not contain Silicone, but yet, while washing it produces foam and it is very easy to rinse off until the hair remains completely clean. It is almost transparent, almost in the colours of white tea.

Now, after washing, my hair sometimes looks great for some days, while other times it lacks volume right from the second day. This is a strange thing, especially since I always dry it naturally, so it is subject to the same treatment. I do not know, I guess we have good and bad hair days no matter what 🙂

I still haven’t tried the conditioner from the same range, because my hair becomes greasy very fast. If I will try it I will definitely let you know.

So to sum up, I got rid of dandruff and itches with this natural shampoo and this for only 1,50 Euros. My hair smells nice, it is shiny and looks healthy.

I would call that a good deal! What about you?
